Frequently Asked Questions

What is Coosa Valley Technologies?

Coosa Valley Technologies is subsidiary of Coosa Valley Electric Cooperative (CVEC). While CVEC offers electric and gas service, Coosa Valley Technologies is dedicated to providing faster broadband and better service to our member-owners.

Why do I want broadband?

Fiber broadband is the fastest and most reliable internet connection available. Speeds of up to 1 gig are possible (that’s 1,000 Mbps, or megabits per second), with enough bandwidth to power your whole business or household. Internet over fiber helps businesses operate efficiently and competitively. It powers advances in health care and education. It even enhances entertainment with ultrafast video streaming (no buffering) and gaming (no lag). It’s also more secure than older copper connections.

When will it be available in my area?

Visit CoosaValleyTech.com to check availability in your neighborhood. As the timeline for construction draws near to your area, we will invite you, along with the other members in your area, to begin registration and complete necessary steps to take service.

What internet speeds will be offered?

We will offer three residential pricing packages that will begin at $59.99 per month for 300 Mbps service. We also offer 500 Mbps for $79.99 per month and 1 Gbps for $99.99 per month. How soon will this happen?

How soon will this happen?

We will start connecting customers in our first phase in September of 2021. The projected timeline is three to four years to bring broadband to every area of CVEC's service territory. If this seems like a long time, that’s because fiber broadband requires a lot of complex infrastructure to be built, and we want to make sure we do it right.

I can’t wait! What do I do?

When construction is finalized, Coosa Valley Technologies will begin installations. Visit CoosaValleyTech.com to stay informed about progress and to let us know you want faster broadband and better service.
